About the IMG/IMD Study
A STUDY OF INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL GRADUATES/DOCTORS SEEKING LICENSURE IN ALBERTA
The IMG/IMD Study is a three year comprehensive study that will look at both the successes and challenges faced by IMGs/IMDs as they pursue their goal to become professionally integrated into the Canadian healthcare system.
The study's purpose is to provide decision makers, medical educators, and medical associations with the evidence they need to direct policy advances provincially and nationally.
The study will compare the experiences and outcomes of IMGs with Canadian Medical Graduates as they move through medical examinations, residence, licensure, and their first year of practice.
SEEKING INTERNATIONAL & CANADIAN MEDICAL GRADUATES TO PARTICIPATE
We are seeking IMGs to participate at all stages in the licensure process from examinations to licensure. We need to interview both successful and unsuccessful IMGs to capture accurately the IMG experience.
We are also seeking Canadian Medical Graduates in residency to participate.
