The IMG Study for 2010-2011 has been made possible with funding from the Government of Alberta (Employment & Immigration) and the Government of Canada (Citizenship & Immigration).
Thank you to all of those that participated in this valuable study. The final report will be made available in September 2012.
The study has taken place for the past three years and has looked at both the successes and challenges faced by IMGs/IMDs as they pursue their goal to become professionally integrated into the Canadian healthcare system.
The study's purpose is to provide decision makers, medical educators, and medical associations with the evidence they need to direct policy advances provincially and nationally.
The study compares the experiences and outcomes of IMGs/IMDs with Canadian Medical Graduates as they move through medical examinations, residence, licensure, and their first year of practice.
